Ukranian Style Easter Eggs (Pysanky No. 3)

Although my mother just used the commercial dyes during my growing
years, once I took more of an interest in it, I began buying the
stronger Ukrainian dyes that were more vibrant in color and used them.
The process uses melted wax to cover the areas of choice, beginning on a
white egg & progressing through the colors, starting with the lightest
color (yellow) and ending with the darkest (i.e., purple, blue or
black).  After designing the egg, the wax is removed by melting it over
a lit candle showing all of the colors one had covered with the wax.”
