Spicy Gochujang Wings
Korean & Japanese seasonings create a sauce with a new depth of flavor

About this Recipe: These wings are baked rather than deep fried and coated with a Gochujang sauce, which is so addictive. They have a deep rich red color but are not as spicy hot as you might think. Because of fermentation, there’s a real depth of flavor.  If you want to impress your friends, try making these wings and add a few more red pepper flakes for those spicy hot wing lovers.

What is a Tailgating Party?

You might be surprised to learn that Tailgating originated in the United States.  It’s known as a social event that centers around an open tailgate or trunk section of a vehicle, typically adjoining a sporting event. Originally, it was thought to have started at the first intercollegiate football game between Princeton and Rutgers Universities in New Brunswick, New  Jersey on November 6th, 1869.  These colleges were just 17 miles apart but in the day with dirt roads and horse drawn carriages, it took many hours  to travel to and from the game with food and refreshments being brought along for the trip. There were few stopping points along the way. Also there were no stadiums but just open playing fields. The fans just stood to watch the game and parked their carriages adjacent to the field as the game progressed.  By the way, Rutgers won 6 to 4.  So Tailgating and Intercollegiate football were born.
