King Arthur glutenfree multi-purpose flour

King Arthur Flour is producing an excellent gluten-free flour blend. It’s a blend of white rice and whole-grain (brown) rice flours, tapioca starch, and potato starch that is perfect for all of those gluten-free recipes.

It is Certified Gluten-Free™ by the non-profit Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), a program of the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG®).

It is available in a 24 ounce box, which yields about 4 cups of flour.  I decided to try it out and see if I could actually make a good gluten-free biscuit to serve with dinner.

On their site, I saw a recipe for easy gluten free biscuits to just mix, scoop, drop, and bake.  Perfect for my busy kitchen! I decided to make 8 large biscuits rather than 16. I also substituted coconut milk for the heavy cream as recommended in the comment’s section by another consumer. Since the picture looked very white, I brushed my biscuit tops with browned butter. The tender and fluffy biscuits were perfect to serve with a rustic stew.

I wondered if I could enhance the flavor and serve a sweeter version with 16 toasty bite size biscuits so I created Easy Livin’ Tropical Coconut Biscuits.  The addition of currents and orange peel added a zesty flavor and spicy coconut created an interesting crunchy crust and a golden brown appearance.

I did not use xanthan gum in this recipe, but many gluten-free recipes call for this ingredient.

I like the idea that I can convert my regular flour recipes easily to gluten free.  If you are looking for some gluten-free products, check their website to see their gluten-free flour as well as the all purpose mix.

Easy Livin’ Tropical Coconut Mini Biscuits

 Ready for a vacation.  Easy living is here with these gluten-free biscuits.  Coconut milk inside provides a hint of the crusty coconut crust around it.  Serve it with your favorite Island salad or smoke grilled fish.  Tiny currents inside the tender biscuit add that little punch of sweetness.  Enjoy!

Easy Gluten-Free Biscuits from King Arthur Flour

 It’s a keeper and yes, it’s gluten-free. It is one of the easier biscuits to make and can be served warm or room temperature. Featured on top of a quick smoked sausage stew, it plays a center roll of delicious.
